Speech therapy for children does not just have to be boring drills or worksheets. Pediatric therapy services can include themes such as zoo animals, camping, space, or specific holidays/celebrations. Then, specific materials can be selected that incorporate the theme, like books, songs, or dramatic play toys. Rather than use isolated activities, a thematic session can bridge understanding of several concepts, so that children can easily communicate these topics in their world outside of the therapy room.
